Hours for Visitors: 7:30 am -10:30 pm.
Breakfast 6:30 am – 11:00 am
Lunch 11:30 noon – 1:15 pm
Supper 5:00 pm- 6:00 pm
Coffee and other beverages are available throughout the day.
Call Lights
The call light alerts staff of your immediate needs. To use, press the button and someone will respond promptly. The staff will either come to your room or use the intercom to communicate with you.
Dietary Information
Upon admission, your nurse will gather information regarding your likes, dislikes, allergies, and any special dietary needs. Please note that your physician may order a special diet to meet your medical and nutritional needs. (If you are in need of a snack or beverage, please ask your nurse) Food may be brought in for the patients consumption, but only with the consent and order of the patient's physician. Menus for your selection will be offered on a daily basis.
Lost & Found
To inquire bout lost and found, contact the Operator by pressing 0, or inquire at the nurses station.
Telephone/Mail
The Hospital phone # is 906-486-4431. To make local calls, dial “8” followed by the complete number. To call within the hospital, dial the 4 digit # or dial “0” for the operator. To send/receive mail: Mail is delivered to patient rooms weekdays in the afternoon. You can give your stamped, outgoing mail to a nurse. It is helpful if you ask those sending mail to you to include your Unit name and room # in the address. Incoming and outgoing calls for patient rooms are not permitted after 10:00 pm to avoid disturbing patients. For extenuating circumstances, check with your nurse.(If you have questions, check with your nurse)
Newspaper:
Daily newspapers are available on request. Also, machines are located at the main hospital entrance.
Notary Public:
Notary Public service is available Monday through Friday from 8:00 am – 4:00 pm.
Parking:
Parking for visitors is available directly in the lot directly in front of the hospital on both S. 4th Street as well as on Cleveland Ave. north of the hospital.
Pastoral Care/Cultural needs
These services are to meet the spiritual and emotional needs of patients and their families. Nursing personnel will assist you in notifying the clergy of your choice.
Personal Belongings/Valuables
We recommend that you bring as few personal belongings and valuables as possible. The hospital cannot be responsible for valuables left in your room. A safe is available for you if needed. Please ask your nurse for further assistance regarding valuables.
Safety
Your safety is one of our major concerns. All electrical appliances must meet hospital fire and safety codes designed specifically for the hospital environment. If you bring any items with you they will need to be checked by our Maintenance Department.
Smoking
Bell Hospital is a smoke free facility. Smoking or the use of tobacco products is prohibited. If you wish to smoke, you must meet specific criteria and obtain permission from your doctor and smoke outside the building. Smoking cessation classes are also available. For information, ask your nurse.
Side Rails
Hospital policy requires that the side rails at the head of the bed be up and locked at all times for patient safety.
Television:
Color TV is available. For a complete list of stations, contact your nurse. For the rest and welfare of our patients, the TV must be kept at a low volume.
Transportation:
Taxi service is available in the Ishpeming area. Contact the switchboard operator to secure this service
Vending machines:
Pop, juice and snack vending machines are located immediately upon entering the cafeteria on the main floor of the hospital.
Visitor Guidelines:
We encourage family and friends to visit patients. We ask that visitors not enter the hospital with a cold, sore throat, or other illness. Our visiting hours are as follows:
11:00 am - 8:00 pm., with consideration given to families with special circumstances. We encourage family and friends to visit with patients, but ask that you observe these rules to ensure the patients relaxation and privacy. All visitors are asked to act in a polite and responsible manner. Any visitor whop exhibits threatening behavior or profane language will be requested to leave the hospital. Visitors are welcome to eat in the cafeteria. If small children come to visit, we ask that an adult accompany them at all times. Children should never sit or lay on the floor, to prevent the transmission of germs.
Waiting Areas:
For your convenience, we have a number of designated waiting areas for your comfort. Our main waiting room is located on the second floor, just to your right as you exit the visitors elevator. You will find a television and comfortable furniture to relax. Additional waiting areas are located in our ER Department on the first floor, our OB Department on the 2nd floor, and in our ACU/Hospice Waiting Room on the 3rd floor.
Going Home:
Your doctor will decide when you are able to leave the hospital, and an order will be written for your discharge. In preparation for discharge, please ensure that a family member will be available to transport you from the hospital. If you are having trouble making thee arrangements, please contact the nursing staff.
Home Care Services:
Bell Hospital can put you in contact with a Home Health Care Agency, should these services be necessary. Home Care Agencies in the Marquette County area include:

Contributions:
Bell Hospital strives to provide the finest health care services and facilities in Marquette County. Medications:
If possible, patients are asked to bring an updated list of their medications (or containers) to the Hospital.
Gift Shop:
Located on the first floor, the Gift Shop offers a variety of gifts and necessities. The Shop is open from 10:00am to 4:00pm Monday threw Friday. Because the Gift Shop is staffed 100% by Volunteers, occasionally you may find a lapse where the Shop is not open. For more information, call the Gift Shop at Ext. #2431.
Flowers & Cards:
Located in the Gift Shop on the First Floor.
