The Lifeline Program at Bell was the first Lifeline Program in the Upper Peninsula when it first debuted in 1982. Since that time, Lifeline has served the needs of the elderly and others who wish to remain in their own homes in a most efficient manner. If they need help, at any time of the day or night, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, they simply push their 'personal help button' and that help is then there for them. Bell Hospital is the only site-monitored Lifeline Program in the Upper Peninsula at this time.
All subscribers are personally helped through the Emergency Room Staff of professionals at Bell Hospital. That staff answers the 'help' call and dispatches either responders, selected by the Lifeline subscriber, or other emergency services as may be needed. Lifeline gives the elderly and others it serves the peace of mind to know that they have a connection to help outside of their home. It also serves to give family members that same peace of mind.
For more information on the Lifeline service and how you can set it up for yourself or a family member, you may contact Maureen Mitchell, Lifeline Program Manager at Bell Hospital directly at 485-2356 or via email at mmitchell@bellmemorial.org |
